Bhavana (South Indian Actress)

Bhavana (6 June, 1986), whose real name is Karthika, is a talented and beautiful South Indian actress who acts in Malayalam and Tamil movies. She is the daughter of Assistant cameraman G. Balachandra Menon. (Click to enlarge images)












































Bhavana made her debut in the film Nammal, directed by the famous Malayalam director Kamal, which won her critical acclaim and various honors, including the State award. Her popular films are Chronic Bachelor, CID Moosa, Swapnakoodu, Chandupottu, Chitiram pesuthadi, Deepavali, and Veyil.

Bhavana made her debut in a Malayalam film “Nammal” opposite newcomers like Siddharth, Jishnu and Renuka Menon, when she was still a 11th standard student. The film was a big success and she got several offers in Malayalam. She has acted with almost all actors of Malayalam including Mammootty, Mohanlal, Suresh Gopi, Dileep, Jayaram, Prithviraj, Kunchacko Boban, Jayasurya etc.

Bhavana is also a popular face in Tamil cinema also. Her first released Tamil film Chithiram Pesuthadi opposite another newcomer, Narain was released in early 2006 was a huge success. Bhavana then became a sought after heroine and she went on a signing spree, picking to act with young heroes. The subsequent Tamil films she did are Kizhakku Kadalkarai Salai and Veyyil. Veyyil (2006) was a huge hit in Tamil and her character Meenakshi won the accolades of both fans and critica. Her release in February 2007 Deepavali opposite Jayam Ravi got very good reviews both for her ravishing girl-next-door looks and her acting.
