Search giant Google has released its Internet web browser Google Chrome. Google Chrome is expected to give tough competition to currently popular web browser's like Microsoft's Internet Explorer 8, Mozilla's Firefox 3 and Apple's Safari. Internet Explorer is used by 74 percent of computer users worldwide compared with 18 percent for Firefox.

Google Chrom Beta

Google Chrome is currently available in beta for Windows Vista and XP, but is also working on Mac and Linux versions.

Google Chrome will provide a faster and more reliable web surfing experience. It uses a newly built V8 JavaScript engine which will power the next generation of web applications which are not possible in today's existing browsers. Each tab is kept in an isolated sandbox which prevents one tab from crashing another.

Google Chrome's layout has been kept very simple. There is no full-scale menu bar and no title bar. It has a Task Manager which allows users to see which sites are using the most memory. Some of the other features are an auto-suggest function which gives suggestions for searches, as well as the top pages a user has visited before and popular sites.

It also has full-text search functionality for browsing history, so there is no need for bookmarks. When a user opens a new tab they will be shown their nine most visited pages along the most searched-for sites.
